Turmeric is so good for fighting inflammation, so we try to add it to our diet whenever possible. On it’s own it doesn’t taste great, but when mixed with honey in this Golden Mylk recipe it is delicious! You can enjoy this drink hot or cold. This time of year, the hot version is perfect.
We’ve shared this recipe before, but this week a good friend added bee pollen to hers and we had to re-share! Such a great way to level up this recipe even further.
Give it a try and let us know what you think.
4 tbsp. ground turmeric
2 tsp. ground ginger powder
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. Wolfe Spanish Bee Pollen (ground in a spice grinder)
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg (optional)
1/8 tsp. ground cloves (optional)
1 tbsp. melted coconut oil
3-4 tbsp. Peace River Honey
1-2 tbsp. hot water
To make mylk:
1.5 tsp. golden mylk paste (recipe above)
1 cup dairy free milk
To make paste, combine all spices and ground Wolfe Spanish Bee Pollen in a small jar and shake or stir to combine thoroughly. Add melted coconut oil, honey, and hot water. Stir until a paste forms.
To make HOT golden mylk, add 1.5 tsp of paste to 1 cup dairy free milk in a small sauce pan. Whisk to combine. Heat over medium heat until just hot/warm (careful not to boil). Taste test and add additional honey if desired.
To make ICED golden mylk, add 1.5 tsp paste and 1 cup dairy free milk to a glass jar with a lid (an empty Peace River Honey jar works great). Shake vigorously to combine. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the shake golden mylk over the ice. ENJOY!
